Advertising

I wrote this post awhile ago. However, my heart has not changed and so I thought I would re-post it.

It has been on my heart lately to offer free advertising. I know how hard it can be to start out with a business and on top of that, pay to advertise. I want to be a blessing to those around me, especially when I know some of you out there are hard working, honest, and offer a great product! It has just come upon me tonight to take action.

With that said, I will be offer free advertising. It will still have to be approved, of course, and if I don’t know much about your product, I may request a sample. I will still write up a post about your product, and if you would like, you can offer to do a giveaway, but that won’t be a necessity.

Instead of paid advertising, I will instead humbly ask for donations. Wow. Did I really just say that? Yes, yes I did. For those of you not in the blogging world, it is not as simple as sitting down and writing. It probably takes at least an hour to write one post. Not only that, but to have my own domain name, and a hosting site, costs money. So you see, it is really my time. Now, before this completely rubs you the wrong way, let me state one thing, and make it very clear.

I do not, and never will, write for money.

I write because I love it.I won’t write because someone says, “Here’s $100, now go write me something.” Do you see the difference? If someone thought I was fabulous and wanted to pay me for my time, that is one thing. It is a whole other thing to write because I am making money. I write because I feel like the Lord has given me a small box to stand on to proclaim His truths, to encourage all who click on my site, and to challenge us in our daily lives. That is my desire for this blog. With that said, if you would like to contribute to the costs of running this blog, and also my time, I can not tell you how much that would bless our family.

So, starting today, I will offer free advertising, pending the approval of The Imperfect Housewife (me!) and will now have a donate button in the sidebar. I hope you understand my heart in this matter. I am not money hungry or greedy. I am not trying to work the system, or double dip in any way. I feel like I would be more of a blessing to you to NOT worry about trying to advertise. I do hope you understand. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at:
