It saddens me that I even feel the need to write a post like this one, the same way it did when I wrote the one on “50 Shades of Grey.” However, when I hear about the women who are going and seeing this movie, it is appalling. Once again, we are giving the devil a foothold in our lives by allowing ourselves to engage in this kind of ‘entertainment’.

I’m sure you wouldn’t want your husband to watch “Strip Tease” would you? Then how on Earth do you justify going to a movie like this? And please, humor me, and tell me what you think Magic Mike is about? Some guy trying to get his life straight, but in the meantime, has a night job as a stripper. Sound’s like a winner.

There is nothing about going to see this movie that is going to edify the Spirit. It will certainly not build up your marriage, or respect your husband. So please. Save your money, your mind, and your heart, and STAY HOME! Maybe you need to rent “Fireproof” and watch that with your husband instead of going ‘out with the girls’ to watch some ‘hollywood hunks’ take their clothes off and sleep around. Just a thought.

So won’t you join me? Take a stand. Keep our marriages sacred, protect them, at whatever cost!

When you play with fire, you get burned.

Just sayin’.

Amen sister! A family member was venting on facebook about how men would be callef pigs for going to see a similar movie about a woman…i commented that either side of the coin is wrong and I would not watch it out of respect for my husband.

I too am appalled by what professing Christian women are reading and watching these days. What is going on? Are we not immersing ourselves in the Word of God? Where is the “walk the narrow way?” Where is the forsaking the things of this world? Where is the renewing of our mind? Where is clothing ourselves with Christ? I absolutely agree that we need to keep our minds and our eyes pure, abstaining from sexual immorality. Anything outside of our relationship with our spouse that incites lust is sin. How can we be salt or light to a fallen world if we are sitting in a movie like this or reading “mommy porn?”

It saddens me to think of several Christian women in my life who are being deceived by this movie and 50 Shadesof Gray. The devil is definitely at work and we need to be on our guard constantly. Thank you for speaking the truth in love!

Deceived. Exactly! That is a great word to use! Women, Christian women, all over, are being deceived into believing that there is nothing wrong with the book or this movie. It truly breaks my heart. We need to be in the Word, just like Mrs.B said! We are either in the Word or in the World….

  4. I’ll join you…I’m posting on this tomorrow. Drives me crazy.

oh be careful little eyes what you see, oh be careful little ears what you hear, oh be careful little hands what you do – for the Father up above is looking down below so be careful little eyes, ears, and hands what you do.

I feel like the odd one out posting this but I went to see this film in the cinema with my fiance not long after it came out and we both really enjoyed it and laughed most of the way through it. Both of us enjoy a wide variety of moves having very similar tastes in movies such as horror movies, musicals, Dirty Dancing, Ghost, Rocky Horror. We both enjoyed the film and made a good date night out of it, there wasn’t anything wrong with it really we thought.

We are all entitled to our own opinions. This is a movie I am choosing not to see. As a married woman, and a Christian, I don’t really see the need to be putting images like that into my head. I want the things that I watch and read to be edifying to the Spirit and to be building up my spiritual life. :) Thank you for your comment!
