The Call of Wisdom Part 2

If you missed yesterday’s post, it’s okay! Just open your Bible and read Proverbs 1. No divine revelations. It just really spoke to me. However, the more I have been thinking about the passage the more I have been wondering a few things.

I’ve been contemplating verse 28-30:

“Then they will call on me, but I will not answer;
They will seek me diligently, but they will not find me.

Because they hated knowledge
And did not choose the fear of the Lord,
 They would have none of my counsel
And despised my every rebuke.”

Is it possible, that there comes a time, when the Wisdom of the Bible will not be available to us through the Holy Spirit? Do we harden our hearts so much to the Word of God that it will no longer be a light to our path? When we finally decide we need the wisdom of God, will we be able to find it?

Do we truly hate knowledge and rebuke so much that we would risk losing the opportunity for wisdom? Do we so oppose fearing the Lord that we won’t be able to find Him in the time of our calamity? Will we lose the ability to take what we know about the Bible (knowledge) and apply it to our lives (wisdom)?

I’m just thinking out loud here. I’d love to hear what you think.
