Trim Healthy Mama
The biggest New Year’s Resolution, in my opinion, has to do with health. Whether that be to lose weight, go to the gym 3 times a week, or just be overall in better health, we make the conscience decision to do better this year…. only to fall of the wagon by February. Been there, done that. And really, it’s just not fun. It’s hard to make real lasting changes, no matter what they pertain to. Enter:
I got this book before Christmas, but, with the holidays and all, I didn’t get a chance to read it until we got back home. Let’s just say, putting it down has proven difficult! It is a very large book and covers a wide range of topics. From health (the whys and hows), recipes, exercise, hormones, and intimacy in marriage, this book is a must read! Not only does it absolutely make sense, but it is extremely practical!
By Monday, I felt like I could start incorporating some of their meals with what I had on hand. I’ve been doing the best I can and it has been fantastic! I am not deprived or starving for foods at all. Let me just show you a few pictures:
This was my lunch one day! 3 steamed eggs (in coconut oil and butter mix) with cheddar cheese, salt and pepper, and broccoli with butter and salt. Delicious and very filling!
For dinner last night, we had the Cheeseburger Pie. I’m a cheeseburger kinda girl. I go to Outback, and want to order their burger….
So, this is right up my alley! Again, very delicious, and Hubby and Children approved! Half way through dinner, my son said “This is the best!”
Looks like a bunch of cheese right… well, there is 12 ounces of cheese in it! It had a great texture and with a little ketchup and mustard, I didn’t miss the bun at all!
I’ve made dinners from THM since Monday. I’ve been 3 for 3 with the Hubby, and that is saying a lot! You know how that goes. Most ‘diet’ books share recipes that are dull, bland, and not even your dog wants to eat it! You won’t find that here! Deprivation is not involved at all! I can not wait to try their desserts. Chocolate, Lemon Meringue, Popsicles, Ice Cream…. the list goes on!
I really believe every woman should read this book. Not only to help educate yourself on health and nutrition, but also because of the other chapters. Hormones and intimacy make up 7 or 8 chapters of this book. Pearl says things in those chapters that we all need to hear!
I don’t want to say too much as I think it would be of great benefit to add this book to your library!
So, here is to kicking off the new year right! I still can’t believe it’s 2013! I hope you will join me on the Trim Healthy Mama journey and share your experiences with all of us!
Find THM on Facebook and order their book off of Amazon!

So far, I’ve been ‘on plan’ for 2 1/2 weeks. With inconsistent exercise, I’ve lost 7 pounds and 1 inch!! woohoo!
